The Co(l)laboratory Programme has announced a new partnership with the East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) to pilot a £20,000 collaborative research training programme for residents across the region. The new Collaboratory Studentships: East Midlands Research Placements scheme will fund research projects that address key local challenges. Each project reflects priorities from EMCCA’s recent Inclusive Growth Commission report and focuses on issues that matter to communities across the East Midlands.

Successful applicants will receive a funded studentship package to support a research placement. A research candidate will deliver each project while working closely with academic supervisors and community‑focused partner organisations. This approach ensures the work responds to real‑world needs and creates meaningful impact.

Applications are now open and close at 11:59pm on Tuesday 31 March 2026.
