In the East Midlands, the scheme is hosted by the University of Nottingham in collaboration with Nottingham Trent University through the Universities for Nottingham Partnership. The regional hub spans a vast and diverse area from the top corners of Derbyshire and Lincolnshire, down through Leicestershire, Rutland and North Northamptonshire, as well as Nottinghamshire in between.

The Climate Ambassadors Scheme provides an exciting opportunity for anyone wanting to share their knowledge, skills and passion for supporting sustainability and climate action to inspire meaningful change within local communities, education settings and young people across the East Midlands. By working closely with our universities, networks, and beyond, we can draw upon a variety of essential skills and experiences to drive impactful, long-lasting and community-focused change towards a more sustainable future.

The scheme is recruiting volunteers to put their sustainability expertise to work. Haven’t worked in an education setting before? Not to worry, all volunteers will receive training on climate action plans and advice on applying their knowledge and skills in an education setting.

You’ll be joining an active network of Climate Ambassadors supporting education settings to take positive action for sustainability in your community. As a Climate Ambassador, you can expect to:

• Make a genuine difference to your community, supporting education settings that need and value your contributions
